A Note from Shawano of Artful Healing

I am so grateful to call Studio 1108 home for Artful Healing. There is something truly special about this space and the people behind it. The team at Studio 1108 has been incredibly helpful, caring, encouraging, and supportive of my vision from the very beginning, and I am so thankful to have a place where Artful Healing can continue to grow and connect with our community.

Each month, I host an Artful Healing class at the studio, creating a welcoming space where you can slow down, explore your emotions, and let art carry your story so you no longer have to. Outside of Studio 1108, Artful Healing continues to take me in some really exciting directions. I will be speaking and serving as an MC at the 2026 MMIW Chahta Women’s Conference, “Art as Medicine – Healing Through Native Women’s Voices,” and I have several other speaking engagements on the calendar. I am also writing my first book, exploring motherhood, emotional regulation, healing, and breaking cycles of generational pain, while continuing to develop nonprofit work focused on making alternative healing resources more accessible to communities that need them. I am excited about everything ahead, but I am especially grateful to have Studio 1108 as a place where I can continue doing this work, creating, connecting, and healing alongside the people in our community.
